Memphis Symphony Orchestra Presents "Aloha Elvis!" Birthday Pops Concert

Elvis fans getting ready to celebrate Elvis' birthday can check out this year's "Aloha Elvis!" Pops Concert taking place this Saturday, January 5, at 7:30 p.m., at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis.

Tickets start at $15. Students are only $5. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Memphis Symphony box office at 901-537-2525 or by purchasing your tickets online.

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra celebrates Elvis’ birthday and the 40th anniversary of "Aloha from Hawaii” with a special concert event featuring Terry Mike Jeffrey. Enjoy Elvis hits as the orchestra recreates the 1973 "Aloha from Hawaii” concert.

Photos of Elvis From Childhood to Fame Now Added to Mobile Apps

As the 2013 Birthday Celebration gets ready to kick off at Graceland in Memphis, we look back at Elvis' very humble beginnings and his rise to super-stardom. Elvis Aaron Presley was born to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two-room house in Tupelo, Mississippi, on January 8, 1935. He and his parents moved to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1948, and Elvis graduated from Humes High School in 1953. Over the years, Elvis' style and music evolved with influences from the gospel music he heard in church and at the all-night gospel sings he frequently attended, plus the rhythm and blues he absorbed on Beale Street as a Memphis teenager. Elvis fans can enjoy a special mini-conversations on Elvis at the new "Elvis' Tupelo" Exhibit at the Bijou Theater on Monday, January 7, at 1:00 p.m. The free event looks at his life growing up in a small Mississippi town with special speakers, Tupelo Historian Roy Turner and Elvis’ childhood friends Guy Harris and Sam Bell. "Million Dollar Quartet" Cast to Perform On FOX News' New Year's Eve Special

The cast of the smash-hit musical "Million Dollar Quartet" will perform live tonight at Times Square during the FOX News' New Year's Eve Special, "All-American New Year’s.” Fans can see the performance between 11:00 p.m.- 12:30 a.m. EST and the show will be rebroadcast in each time zone.

Starting at 11:00 p.m. EST, Megyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer will bring you the big event live from Times Square in New York City with performances from Pat Benatar,Sarah Brightman and the cast of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical.

Photo Spotlight: Hard Rock Memphis' New Year's Eve Elvis-Inspired Guitar

We are kicking off the new year in style with the famous Hard Rock Memphis Guitar Drop on Beale Street. In partnership with several Memphis organizations, this year's 10-foot guitar is dedicated to the 40th Anniversary of Elvis' famous "Aloha from Hawaii" concert. Check out this year's guitar in our photo spotlight!

The Elvis-inspired guitar is designed after the famous American Eagle jumpsuit worn by Elvis during these legendary performances. On the evening of Monday, January 14, 2013, the world will celebrate "Aloha from Hawaii.” Elvis fans will gather at the Neal Blaisdell Center, the same venue where 40 years earlier, on January 14, 1973, Elvis took the stage for the concert that would become the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history.
